Lucas Type C40 22 Amp Dynamo
	TECHNICAL BULLETIN TB-42 Dynamo polarization Lucas type dynamos must be polarised on installation. Failure to do so can damage the control box and the replacement dynamo. To polarise the dynamo: 1.Install the dynamo to vehicle, do not connect any cables at this time. 2.If vehicle is ‘positive' earth, connect a jump lead to the ‘negative‘side of the battery, and momentarily connect the other end of the jump lead to 'DF‘terminal (6.3mm lucar) on the dynamo. 3.If the vehicle is ‘negative‘earth, connect a jump lead to the ‘positive' terminal of the battery, and momentarily connect the other end of the jump lead to the 'DF‘terminal (6.3mm lucar) of the dynamo. 4.Now connect dynamo leads. Ensure voltage regulator and, if applicable current regulator settings are correct on control box. Do not over tension the fan belt , a dynamo belt does not require the same tension as an alternator belt. Over tightening the belt will cause the rear bush to fail.
